Opening of the national Square in gdita

Under the auspices of the commander of the Lebanese army, general Jean Kahwaji, represented by Brigadier General Adnan Abu Yassin, the Lebanese Association for coexistence and development and the municipality of jedita inaugurated the national Square, in the presence of representatives of the director general of the internal security forces, the director general of Public Security and the Director General of state security, in addition to political, religious and social events, mayors and mukhatir and a large crowd of the people of the town and the neighborhood.

During the ceremony, which was held at the park hotel shutura, the mayor of gedita, Brigadier General Wahib qeqano, gave a speech in which he thanked the association and praised its initiative and efforts and stressed that this square is to perpetuate the memory of the martyrs of the fatherland from the army and all its security services, as well as to honor officers, ranks and individuals, to glorify those who protect the borders
In order to preserve the lives of all citizens.
Then there was the speech of the Lebanese Association for coexistence and Development, delivered by its founding members Hussein Hassan, Mohammed Solh and Michel Ghosn . The speech included thanks to the municipality of jedita for its cooperation and to the sgbl for the financial support for the construction of the Square, in addition to a detailed explanation of the monument and the message of the Association, which expressed adherence to the army and security forces “we do not want anyone but you, we want only your strength, firmness and law, we are the children of the state and the state only”. “A few meters is what we needed to express our wound about the martyrs who fell to keep the homeland. The circular shape is a sign of infinity and perfection, our young people from the army and security forces are always ready to be brave, sacrifice themselves and testify for the sake of the homeland, despite the Black color of the granite tiles that overwhelmed trying to take away from them the perfection of honor, sacrifice and loyalty, and we remember their testimony and preserve it for them forever, endlessly. President Hariri’s olive tree pierces that blackness as a sign of peace, a sign of defiance, because it is a tree raised under all circumstances, and the blood of martyrs blooms in peace and hope. The circle rises in the form of a cone, which is the form of Ascension, and the soldier, when he sacrifices himself for the Fatherland, ascends as a martyr to heaven, where he becomes holy. Let a flame rise above it in the middle of a cedar tree, untouched because our martyrs redeemed it with their blood, and with it they painted our Flag, they died so that Lebanon may live. While the flame looks like a torn cloth, and at the same time it escalates because the testimony is taken from itself, but it is always above, even if it is given from itself, it is always ready to protect the homeland. The flame is on the colors of the Lebanese flag because the army and the security forces of all Lebanon, without prejudice, and the flag covers all categories,”he said.
The ceremony concluded with a speech by the representative of the army commander, Brigadier General Abu Yassin, in which he stated: “in your response to the opening of a public square entitled in the name of the fatherland and the nomination of its content with the meanings of loyalty to the army, you provide a clear example of national solidarity in the face of crises that cast a shadow on our local reality in one way or another, at the security and social levels, the country is one of the most in need of our efforts and energies together, and we all have a spirit of responsibility, wisdom and foresight, to preserve our national gains. . Let’s clasp our hands together and renew the era of preserving Lebanon with its progress and development,”he said.

Then the participants headed to the square, where the monument was unveiled amid the firing of firecrackers and the playing of the music of the Lebanese army band.
