“To Light a Candle Better than to Curse Darkness” as a motto, LACODE has been serving in Northern Beqaa. Our projects included so far:

  • Mary Square, entrance of Baalbeck, to highlight the Muslim-Christian coexistence in the city (2014);
  • I Love Baalbeck, a multicolored statue targeting youth in the city to instill admiration by them to Baalbeck (2015);
  • Nation Square, Jdita-Chtaura, honoring the sacrifices of the Lebanese army (2016);
  • Huge mural, Baalbeck downtown, honoring the singing divas who left their fingerprints on the stairs of Baalbeck temples as part of the city’s yearly international festival (2017);
  • Flour Caves, the forgotten treasure of Baalbeck, a neglected historic site, which we rehabilitated and revamped with the support of the Italian Government and UN Habitat (2018).
